Sindh Government to Introduce EVs for Women with Chinese Collaboration

E-Scooters for Women Soon, Says Sharjeel

KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced that the provincial government is actively working towards the introduction of electric scooters for women. The initiative aims to promote modern and environmentally friendly travel facilities, providing a safer and more convenient transport option for working women and students.

A delegation of Chinese electric scooter manufacturers recently met with Minister Memon to discuss potential investment in Sindh’s transport sector. They expressed keen interest in setting up an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing plant in the province and presented proposals aligned with modern transport solutions.

During the meeting, the delegation delivered a detailed briefing on the latest technology and transport systems. In response, the minister assured them of the Sindh government’s full support, emphasizing investment-friendly policies and incentives for manufacturing.

Mr. Memon further stated that the government is making dedicated efforts to empower women through accessible and affordable transport. He also revealed that a plan is under consideration to provide 1,000 electric scooters to working women and female students soon.
